Transition Services: The Power of Partnerships

In addition to providing supports for students pursuing certificate programs, associate’s, and bachelor’s degrees, College Steps also offers services for high school students eligible for transition-based supports focusing on pre-employment or post-secondary educational goals.

PARTNERING WITH SCHOOL DISTRICTS & SCHOOLS

Through College Steps’ transition support model, we partner directly with high schools and school districts to promote innovative transition support services. Each year, dozens of school districts across the regions we support contract directly with College Steps.

The structure and benefits of our transition support model include:

  • High school students who attend College Steps maintain their regular enrollment status within their high school.
  • Students simultaneously attend a college campus or workforce training site in close proximity to their school.
  • Students typically take part in College Steps for 15 or 20 hours per week.
  • Students tend to take one to two classes per semester, along with other elements of College Steps' Individualized College Plan.
