VIRTUAL ACADEMY Information

 

Students enrolled in or entering College Steps can join our Virtual Summer Academy, offering multiple sessions to build key skills like organization, time management, and self-advocacy.

Students who are not enrolled or entering College Steps support can register for our flexible, self-paced Student-Directed Modules.


VIRTUAL SUMMER ACADEMY OFFERINGS

College Steps will offer three sessions during the Virtual Summer Academy 2026.

Students may opt to attend one, two, or all three sessions.

Session Dates: July 6 - July 24, 2026

Session Times: all sessions run Monday-Thursday in EDT

  • Session 1 at 10:00 am - 11:15 am

  • Session 2 at 11:30 am - 12:45 pm

  • Session 3 at 1:45 pm - 3:00 pm

VIRTUAL SUMMER ACADEMY SESSION RATES

One Session: $2,000

  • Enroll for a singular session.

Two or More Sessions: $1,500 per session

  • Enroll in two or more sessions and receive $500 off each session.

Summer Academy OFFERS:

  • Support and Guidance from College Steps Support Specialist Staff. Sessions will be staffed by a highly qualified Support Specialist from our current campus programs.

  • Access to Relevant College Steps Curriculum Resources. Support Specialists will guide student groups through the College Steps designed curriculum on related session topics.

  • Group Sessions. Students will have amazing opportunities for social connection with other College Steps students from across our campuses.

  • Virtual Sessions. Students will be scheduled for online sessions that will help them stay engaged and grow in focus areas over the summer months.

  • Program Oversight from a College Steps Instructional Coordinator. Our highly qualified full-time Instructional Coordinator team will be available to help support session quality, student participation, and assist with troubleshooting difficulties that may arise.

Summer Academy DOES not OFFER:

  • Program Coordinator Support. Students will be able to work with Support Specialists assigned to their sessions to support their needs. Program Coordinators are available for the summer only for topics relevant to planning for the upcoming school year.

  • Support from the Student's Current Campus Staff. Support Specialists will be from our pool of highly qualified staff from one of our campuses.  Campus mentors will not be staffed during the summer. 

  • One-on-One Support. Students will be supported in group sessions with other students from across our campuses.

  • In-Person, On-Campus Support. All sessions will be scheduled virtually.

  • Supported Communication with On-Campus Staff Including Professors. Students will need to communicate with campus staff contacts independently about any summer topics or tasks.

First Year Foundations: Building Your College Success System

This self-paced module helps first-year students develop the skills and systems needed for a strong start in college. Across five focused units, students explore college expectations, time management and executive functioning, communication and self-advocacy skills, social navigation, and stress management.

Through activities and practical planning tools, students create personalized strategies to confidently manage their academics and daily responsibilities.
