This month we are celebrating, Mikre Hailu from NOVA — Alexandria. As a Lead Mentor, Mikre consistently demonstrates strong dedication, professionalism, and compassion in his work with students. He creates a supportive and encouraging environment, approaching each interaction with patience and understanding while helping students grow academically, socially, and personally.
He also serves as a dependable leader and role model for both students and colleagues, supporting students through challenges, guiding them toward their goals, and contributing positively to the College Steps mission. His ability to build meaningful relationships and foster independence has played a key role in student success.
Alongside his mentoring work, Mikre recently graduated from George Mason University—an achievement that reflects his perseverance and strong work ethic while balancing academic and professional responsibilities. His leadership, commitment, and genuine care for others make him an invaluable part of the team. We celebrate his accomplishments and thank him for the lasting impact he continues to make.
